Apple's $79 iPhone Duo case uses adhesive to stay in place

People who have bought Apple's $79 iPhone Duo case say it needs adhesive to stay attached to the foldable phone.

The case comes in two pieces, with adhesive strips along the inside edges that users must uncover and press onto the device.

It protects the back around the camera and the front around the outer display, but not the inner screen when the phone is unfolded.

Apple also sells a $129 magnetic folio case that does not use adhesive, though it covers the outer display when in use and leaves the phone's sides unprotected.

The adhesive means users may find it harder to remove or change the case, particularly if they prefer using the phone without a case at times.

Third-party cases are another option, but the sources do not identify any specific models.

iPhone Duo pre-orders have begun, and the first phones are due to reach customers next Friday; initial stock sold out, with shipping estimates pushed to January 25.

the folio is clearly the nicer one, the kickstand feels sturdy (the hinges are metal underneath) but the case has a nice grippy feel to it though it has the adhesive stickers like other foldables
