Rubio to visit India for energy talks from October 17 to 22

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio will visit India next week to discuss energy cooperation.

He is scheduled to travel to Mumbai and Jamnagar from October 17 to 22, after visiting Samarkand in Uzbekistan.

Rubio will meet senior Indian officials to discuss the countries’ strategic partnership and regional and global issues.

He will also meet business leaders to promote investment and economic cooperation.

Jamnagar is home to Reliance’s oil refinery, described as the world’s largest single-site facility, with capacity to process 1.4 million barrels of crude oil a day.

The visit comes after President Donald Trump announced plans for a U.S. refinery in Texas with investment from Reliance Industries.

The State Department said the trip will focus on strengthening U.S.-India energy cooperation.
