West Java Governor Steps In After Factory Worker Loses Finger

Rindi Natasya lost a finger in a factory accident in Cikarang, West Java.

She worked at PT Daehyun Bobbin Indonesia and said she received no compensation and her wages were cut after the accident.

Labor inspectors visited the company on November 3, and mediation in Bekasi led management and the worker to make a written agreement.

West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi expressed concern and said companies must protect workers from workplace accidents.

Dedi invited Natasya to meet him on November 9 in hopes of resolving her case.

The case has drawn attention to companies’ duties to meet labor rules and provide workplace safety protections.
