GTA 6 map said to rival Rockstar’s last three games combined
GTA 6’s map is said to nearly match three previous Rockstar games combined.
It covers Vice City and the surrounding areas of Leonida, a fictional version of Florida.
Co-studio head Aaron Garbut says the game has far more interiors than Rockstar’s previous titles.
He also says back alleys and other locations have been given detailed attention.
The design reflects concerns that some areas in GTA 5 felt sparse, and aims to make even the outer reaches of Leonida more engaging.
The scale and detail could make exploring a major part of the game.
Rockstar has not officially said when GTA 6 will come to PC.
Grand Theft Auto 6’s Leonida map is said to be almost as large as the maps of Grand Theft Auto 4, Grand Theft Auto 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2 combined.
The claim was reported in a feature in the latest issue of Edge magazine.
Co-studio head Aaron Garbut said the game has “an order of magnitude more interiors” than Rockstar’s previous games.
Garbut also said the map’s locations, including back alleys, have been designed with dense detail.
The article says Rockstar drew on the reception to Grand Theft Auto 5’s northern areas when creating Leonida’s outer reaches.
