Hugues Aufray postpones Bressuire concert because of acute laryngitis

Hugues Aufray has postponed his concert in Bressuire, a town in western France, after falling ill.

The 97-year-old singer said he has acute laryngitis that left him unable to speak, so he cannot perform.

The show was due to take place on October 23 as part of his Escapada tour.

Aufray is known for songs including “Santiano” and “Céline.”

The concert is rescheduled for January 8, 2027, and tickets bought for the original date remain valid.

His production team said he hopes to meet the Bressuire audience then in good health.
