Flames beat Ducks 4-2 for their first win of the season

The Calgary Flames beat the Anaheim Ducks 4-2 in Anaheim on Tuesday.

Martin Pospisil scored the go-ahead goal with 4:22 left in the third period, and Yegor Sharangovich added an empty-net goal.

Calgary had lost its first five games, making this the first win of the season and ending the longest season-opening losing streak in franchise history.

Aydar Suniev scored and assisted, while Adam Klapka also scored for Calgary.

Beckett Sennecke and Leo Carlsson scored for Anaheim, which had beaten Calgary 4-2 on Saturday.

The result matters because it gave the Flames their first two points after a difficult start, while the Ducks’ record became 4-2-0.

Calgary’s next game is not stated.

It's nice to see the pieces kind of come together a little bit more than they have the prior five games, so there were a lot of positives from the group tonight.

It's hard to beat a team twice in a row and they're hungry.
