Yvonne Bajela closes $17 million debut fund for Evertrue
Yvonne Bajela has closed a $17 million debut fund for her new venture capital firm, Evertrue Capital.
She spent more than a decade investing in startups, including at LocalGlobe and Impact X Capital Partners.
Evertrue will invest in early-stage companies across the U.K. and Europe, where Bajela sees opportunities to back new businesses early.
The firm has already backed seven companies and plans to make investments of about £350,000 on average.
It aims to back at least 20 companies over the next three years.
Bajela said the AI boom helped make this a good time to launch, as it has changed the cost of building companies and created opportunities for early investors.
The fund will support new startups as they develop, while keeping its size limited rather than taking more money from interested investors.
