South Korean President Lee’s approval falls to 35.2% in poll
A Realmeter poll found that 35.2% of South Koreans approved of President Lee Jae Myung’s performance.
His approval rating fell by 2.2 percentage points for a second week in a row, while 61.4% disapproved.
The poll surveyed 1,504 adults across the country from October 6 to 8.
Realmeter said debate over judicial independence, a landmine explosion in the Demilitarized Zone, and rising housing costs may have contributed to the decline.
In a separate poll, the Democratic Party had 35.7% support, down seven points, while the People Power Party had 41.3%, up 2.9 points.
The gap between the parties was within the poll’s margin of error.
