Turkey Announces Appointments and Dismissals Across Government

Turkey has announced a series of senior government appointments and dismissals in decisions signed by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

The changes affect the ministries of energy, family and social services, education and defence, as well as other public bodies.

Several officials were appointed to new roles, including Rahmi Kopar as head of the Energy Ministry’s Foreign Relations Directorate.

The changes also name new regional directors in the mining, family services and nature conservation bodies.

Some officials were removed from their posts, including family services deputy director Halit Çağdaş and defence logistics deputy director Muhammed Mahmud Ötegen; Mahmut Güneş Öztürk was appointed to replace the latter.

The decisions were published in Turkey’s Official Gazette, making the personnel changes public; no further steps are specified.
