Michael Palin has cancelled his upcoming UK book tour after a fall in his bathroom.
The 83-year-old Monty Python star was due to promote his new travel book, *In the Philippines*, at venues across the country this month.
The fall broke three ribs and caused a minor pelvic fracture, Palin said.
He described it as a “comedy fall with no audience there to see it” and thanked the NHS for his care.
His injuries mean he cannot take part in the tour or other events over the next few months, as bone fractures can take a long time to heal.
Ticket holders will be contacted about rescheduled dates as soon as they are available.
