Antonelli leads Norris and Verstappen in Brazilian GP practice

At the Brazilian Grand Prix in São Paulo, newly crowned world champion Kimi Antonelli was fastest in Friday’s second practice session.

The Mercedes driver set a time of 1 minute 10.763 seconds, leading Lando Norris and Max Verstappen.

Norris was second in his upgraded McLaren, while Verstappen was third for Red Bull, just 0.006 seconds behind Norris.

George Russell and Oscar Piastri completed the top five, with the leading drivers closely matched.

Cool, overcast conditions and a bumpy track made the session difficult, though light rain did not last.

Antonelli also dealt with heavy bouncing from the car, while Lewis Hamilton said he was struggling to warm his tyres.

The practice order is an early indication of pace, but the weekend’s racing is still to come.
