Applications open for Riyadh’s 2027 Tuwaiq Sculpture Symposium
Riyadh Art has opened applications for the eighth Tuwaiq Sculpture Symposium, which will take place in Riyadh early in 2027.
Artists in Saudi Arabia and elsewhere can apply from October 18 to November 8, 2026, and must have at least three years of professional experience in sculpture, exhibitions and public-art commissions.
Three curators will select 20 artists and guide the symposium’s artistic direction.
Its theme, “In the Depths of Roots,” explores how the land, memory and culture shape a place and its future.
Artists will work with materials including local granite, metals, mosaics and cement, and the public can watch the sculptors at work over three weeks.
The programme will also include school and university visits, workshops and talks.
A public exhibition will close the symposium, after which the finished works will be installed at locations around the capital.
