Xenolhu Will Face Godzilla in a Future Live-Action Short
Toho has chosen Xenolhu to challenge Godzilla in a future live-action short.
Xenolhu is an original creature design described as a “Dimensional Entity.”
Toho’s New Monster General Election began in September with eight designs by Shirogumi, the visual effects studio behind Godzilla Minus One.
Fans chose Xenolhu in a two-round vote, which narrowed the field before a final round.
Xenolhu won with 16,850 votes, beating runner-up Sagius, which received 14,649.
The winner earns a place opposite Godzilla in a Fest Godzilla production, with merchandise also planned.
The live-action debut is planned for 2027 or later.
