Police investigate 10 youths after attack on boy in Frankfurt (Oder)

A boy was attacked by several youths outside a school in Frankfurt (Oder), eastern Germany, on October 14.

Video of the assault circulated on social media and appears to show the boy being punched and kicked, including while on the ground.

Police are investigating 10 suspects aged 13 to 15 over suspected aggravated assault and robbery.

The boy had facial injuries, and police say the video has been secured as evidence.

Reports differ on whether the youths involved attended the school; the school’s head said those shown were not its students.

Police have urged people not to share the video, and say sharing violent content can be punishable.

Police plan to meet with the city, the school authority and other partners to discuss the situation and possible steps.
