Renault and John Cockerill unveil military ground robot
Renault and Belgian group John Cockerill presented a ground robot on Tuesday, 3 November.
Called Forefront Concept, it is a remotely operated platform designed for different tasks.
Its electric motors give it a range of about 400 kilometres, and it can carry up to one tonne.
The partners say it could support military logistics, reconnaissance, counter-drone operations, fire support and evacuations, as well as civilian safety and logistics work.
The project extends Renault’s military drone work from the air to the ground; the company is also developing two aerial drones, Chorus with Turgis Gaillard and Toutatis with Thales.
The partners have not said what happens next.
