Hello82 launches its first 82World K-pop festival in Los Angeles

Los Angeles-based K-pop company Hello82 is launching its first festival, called 82World, on Oct.

17 and 18.

The event is taking place at L.A. State Historic Park and has been in development for years.

Hello82 says it wants the outdoor festival to feel grassroots and focused on fans, rather than like a large, polished convention.

That approach comes as several K-pop festivals announced in recent years did not go ahead because of logistical hurdles.

P1Harmony and ATEEZ headline the two days, alongside other K-pop and J-pop acts.

Sunday’s program also includes ATEEZ-related DJ sets, dance workshops, trivia and smaller activities with group members.

The festival’s launch will test whether a new K-pop event can succeed in the US, where the genre has grown in popularity.
