Thirumavalavan says he warned Stalin about Kolathur seat

At a protest in Chennai, VCK leader Thirumavalavan said he warned M.K. Stalin about Kolathur before Tamil Nadu's assembly election.

He said a woman contacted him repeatedly, warning that efforts were under way to defeat Stalin in the constituency.

Thirumavalavan said he raised the concern with Stalin and DMK leader Sekar Babu, and suggested Stalin consider contesting from another seat.

He alleged that 100,000 voters were removed from Kolathur during a special voter-list revision, which he said was far more than the number of people who had died there.

He also claimed that 97 lakh voters were removed across Tamil Nadu, and described the removals as a threat to democracy rather than a plot against one party.

The protest was organised by Congress in Chennai and included several opposition parties, who called for the chief election commissioner to resign over alleged irregularities in the revision.

Thirumavalavan said he was raising the matter again as a warning; the accounts do not describe any next steps.
