National Health Congress opens in Moscow with focus on strategy to 2030

The fifth National Health Congress opened in Moscow on November 2 and runs through November 3.

It brings together health officials, doctors, researchers and medical equipment producers from Russia and other countries.

A key topic is Russia’s health strategy through 2030, including prevention, treatment and health-care infrastructure.

Yaroslavl Region’s delegation is sharing its work on clinics, medical staffing and the use of artificial intelligence to review scans.

The region says it has reduced its doctor shortage from 430 in 2022 to 61 as of October 1, 2026.

The discussions focus on improving care and workforce capacity across health services.

Russian President Vladimir Putin sent a greeting and said the congress’s recommendations could support medical science and health care; delegates plan to take ideas back to their regions.
