Latin American lawmakers visit Guangxi to explore cooperation

Thirty-four lawmakers from 10 Latin American countries and regions visited Guangxi, in southern China, from Oct.

23 to 27.

They explored possible cooperation in trade, tourism and sister-city links.

The delegation visited local communities and businesses, along with Beibu Gulf Port and the Pinglu Canal project.

The canal is a major project intended to support Guangxi's links with Southeast Asia.

Members said China's experience in economic planning, environmental protection and digital development could offer lessons for their countries.

A Nicaraguan lawmaker said she hoped more of her country's products would reach China, and welcomed Chinese products and technology in Nicaragua.

Participants expressed interest in expanding two-way cooperation, including through more sister-city ties.
