Actor and producer Charles F. Porter died at 47 after a long battle with Hodgkin lymphoma.

His family said he died Monday at his home in Calabasas, California.

Porter produced the 2025 film Finding Faith, which starred Paula Patton and Keith David and was released in theaters before airing on Lifetime.

He also starred in an ESPN film as Wendell Scott, the first Black NASCAR Cup race winner, who made history in 1963.

Porter founded Black Bench Productions and supported independent films, including stories about faith and family.

He was developing more faith-based films and was an executive producer and early investor on Last Meals, an upcoming feature.
