Gangwon donations rise 25.8% to 4.26 billion won

Gangwon Province and its 18 cities and counties received 4.26 billion won in hometown donations by the end of October.

That was 870 million won more than in the same period last year, a 25.8% increase.

The rise was higher than the 7% national average increase over the same period.

Gangwon plans more promotion through public institutions, companies, visits to residents' groups and online content to encourage donations through year-end.

Out-of-province donors giving at least 100,000 won at the provincial government office on November 5 or 6 will receive a coffee coupon worth 20,000 won, in addition to the usual gift.

The coupon is limited to one per person during the promotion.
