Jonathan Aranda reaches base four times in World Series debut

Mexican first baseman Jonathan Aranda made his World Series debut for the Tampa Bay Rays against the Milwaukee Brewers.

He reached base in all four plate appearances, with three hits and a walk.

Aranda scored twice, but Tampa Bay lost Game 1 by a score of 3-2.

The game was played in Milwaukee as the American League champion Rays faced the National League champion Brewers.

The Rays signed Aranda in 2015 after he played youth baseball in Tijuana, and he spent years developing with the organization.

He set personal bests in several categories during the regular season, including games played, hits and home runs.

The winner will earn its first championship, according to the team’s history described ahead of the series.
