Modern Warfare 4’s DMZ mode opens early for digital pre-orders
Infinity Ward plans to release DMZ, an extraction-shooter mode in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, before the full game launches.
Players who pre-order the game digitally can start playing DMZ on 20 October.
The campaign becomes available on 16 October, while the full launch, including multiplayer, is set for 23 October.
The early access gives players a chance to try DMZ before the rest of the game is out.
Some players thought a feature shown in early footage meant DMZ would offer matches without other players.
Infinity Ward says that feature was for developers, and players can turn off squad fill to play solo, but may still be matched with other players.
The game is set to launch on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S and Switch 2.
