Samsung Health cuts Sleep Coaching data requirement to three days

Samsung has updated its Health app with changes to sleep coaching and running tools.

Sleep Coaching previously required a full week of sleep data collected within a month; eligible users can now begin with three days of data from the past two weeks.

Users also answer questions about their sleep habits, satisfaction, and alcohol and caffeine intake, which the app uses to assign a Sleep Animal and create a tailored four- to eight-week plan.

The plan adjusts its weekly advice as sleep patterns change, with daily tips and a new graph summarizing five sleep measures.

For runners, Samsung has expanded its training plans from 10 levels to 12 and added imports of Strava Routes for running, trail running, and cycling.

These changes matter because they make Samsung Health's sleep guidance easier to start and add more options for runners.

The features will roll out gradually this month, with availability varying by market and device.
