Online claims about Kim Jong Un’s death remain unverified

Unverified online claims say Kim Jong Un suffered a brain haemorrhage and died.

The North Korean leader was also alleged to have received emergency treatment in China, but those claims have not been independently confirmed.

There is no credible evidence that Kim is dead, and North Korea has made no public confirmation that he is in a coma.

The rumours gained attention after Wanjun Xie, chairman of the China Democracy Party, posted claims on X about Kim’s health and Chinese troops.

The allegations of a succession crisis and troop deployment are also unsubstantiated.

Kim was shown publicly visiting North Korea’s new National Defence Revolution Museum days before the rumours spread, where the country displayed missiles.

His recent public appearance is known, but his current condition is not confirmed.
