Coastguard agency chief faces resignation calls over survey claim
The agency chief said more than 90% of coastguard rescue officers supported changing them to volunteers and stopping their pay.
A statistics regulator found the surveys cited did not ask officers directly whether they supported that plan.
The agency could not provide other evidence to support the figure.
The plan was scrapped after strong criticism, but officers are still waiting to learn what system will replace it.
