Jung Dae-sun Enters Funeral Services Market With HN Sangjo

Jung Dae-sun has entered South Korea’s funeral-services market with a new company, HN Sangjo.

It will focus on post-paid funeral services, where families pay after a funeral rather than making monthly payments in advance.

HN Sangjo says it has partnered with 647 funeral homes nationwide and smaller suppliers, while local firms will handle services and HN will oversee standards, marketing, funding and technology.

The company also plans to offer funeral support as an employee benefit through partnerships with businesses and organizations, including companies linked to Hyundai.

The business could add competition for existing providers if companies switch or renew their service contracts.

HN Sangjo plans to hold its launch ceremony on November 16 and says it may consider prepaid services later, depending on market conditions.
