Indonesia Targets $33 Billion in US Trade and Business Deals

Indonesia is seeking $33 billion in trade agreements and business deals with the United States this year.

Coordinating Economic Affairs Minister Airlangga Hartarto announced the target at a meeting with a US business delegation.

Trade between the two countries reached $32.34 billion from January to August, an 11.82 percent increase from the same period a year earlier.

US investment in Indonesia reached $3.4 billion in the first three quarters, exceeding the total for all of 2025.

Indonesia wants US investment in manufacturing, digital infrastructure, artificial intelligence and renewable energy as part of plans to grow its economy.

The government says joint ventures and technology transfers could help local businesses join global supply chains, though US companies have raised regulatory concerns.

Indonesia says it will work with companies to address those concerns, but the sources do not specify when the targeted deals might be completed.
