Noetix says Bumi deliveries topped 5,000 by September

Chinese company Noetix has delivered more than 5,000 Bumi humanoid robots by September 2026, according to its founder, Jiang Zheyuan.

Bumi gained attention after appearing in a 2026 Lunar New Year TV gala sketch and competing in a robot marathon in 2025.

Noetix had set a goal of selling at least 10,000 Bumis in 2026, so deliveries so far fall short of that target.

The robot costs 9,998 yuan, and Jiang estimates that business and consumer buyers account for roughly equal shares of sales.

But institutional customers bring in more money, while consumers buy more units, suggesting the market still depends heavily on research, education and display uses.

Rivals are also lowering prices, making the contest increasingly about what robots can do, not just what they cost.

Noetix says it is developing its own robot intelligence to help Bumi move beyond preset actions, though it introduced its embodied-intelligence brand only in September, later than several competitors.

The company’s next challenge is to deliver useful capabilities at scale and build up data from real-world tasks, particularly in homes.

For Bumi, I personally feel B2B and C2 sales are roughly half and half, with C2 shipments a little higher, but B2B revenue higher.

If robot companies compete on computing power and financial resources, they definitely cannot compete with companies that only make large models; the gap is very large.

A general-purpose large model can be a good planner, or a front end for System 2 (slow thinking), but the system still needs to be integrated by the robot company itself.
