Thieves break into Massimo Gramellini’s home near Rome

Thieves broke into journalist Massimo Gramellini’s home in Trevignano Romano, near Rome.

The owners were away, and the intruders forced the gate and ransacked rooms.

Some jewellery and valuables were taken, but their value is still being assessed.

One account says the alarm and cameras had not been activated; a later account says the surveillance cameras were out of service, and investigators are examining that discrepancy.

Carabinieri from Bracciano are investigating and looking for evidence that could identify those responsible.

They are also working to establish exactly when the break-in happened and to complete an inventory of what was taken.
