Forum in Haikou explores how Chinese brands can expand overseas

The 2026 China Brand Internationalization Forum opened in Haikou on October 20, bringing together more than 2,000 guests from China and abroad.

The event focuses on helping Chinese companies move from selling products abroad to building global brands.

Organizers say the forum will hold more than 20 sessions on issues including cross-border compliance, digital marketing and industrial upgrading.

Hainan’s governor said the Hainan Free Trade Port aims to help Chinese firms reach overseas markets and foreign firms enter China.

Gree Electric chairwoman Dong Mingzhu said international growth depends on strong manufacturing and independent research and development.

Speakers also stressed that companies need to follow local rules, earn customer trust and adapt to different markets.

A brand export exhibition opened alongside the forum in Haikou, and organizers say the two events will offer support from planning and promotion to market expansion and business connections.
