Apple’s OLED MacBook Pro could lift OLED laptop shipments by over 40% in 2027

Apple is expected to launch its first OLED MacBook Pro, and TrendForce forecasts global OLED laptop shipments will grow by more than 40% in 2027.

The research firm estimates the new MacBook Pro could ship 1.2 million to 1.5 million units that year.

Samsung Display is the laptop’s exclusive OLED panel supplier, with production assigned to a line in Asan, South Korea.

Lenovo, HP and Asus have driven OLED laptop growth so far, and Apple’s move could encourage more manufacturers to use the displays.

The 14-inch MacBook Pro starts at $2,899, which could limit upgrades, while Apple will continue selling lower-cost Mini-LED models.

Other panel makers are preparing for an OLED MacBook Air expected in 2029, though no launch details are given.
