Kim Yo-jong Says North Korea Has No Need for U.S. Talks Without Policy Shift
Kim Yo-jong said North Korea may talk with the United States, but said talks are not necessarily in her country’s national interest.
She is the sister of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un and made the remarks in a statement carried by state media.
Her comments followed U.S. accusations that North Korea was behind a theft of more than $6 billion in cryptocurrency from Binance, an allegation she rejected.
Kim also pointed to U.S. military drills with South Korea and Japan and their commitment to North Korea’s denuclearization as signs of hostility.
She said Washington must abandon its hostile policy before talks can solve problems, while describing dialogue as one possible path to peace.
Kim warned North Korea would respond to what it sees as continued U.S. hostility, but did not say what actions it might take.

The U.S. abandonment of its hostile policy toward Pyongyang is a major premise and key to solving all problems
It is our clear stand that we have no need to sit face to face with such unreliable and hostile persons who refuse to abandon their policy of confrontation
