iOS 27.2 Adds Older Siri Remotes to Find My

Apple has added second- and third-generation Siri Remotes to Find My with iOS 27.2 and tvOS 27.2.

The feature lets iPhone and Apple TV users see their remotes alongside other devices in the Find My app.

Apple already offered a way to locate a lost remote through the Apple TV Remote widget in Control Center, but the option was less easy to find.

Older remotes cannot play a sound or use Precision Finding, features Apple is adding to the updated remote for its fourth-generation Apple TV 4K.

Find My support applies to second-generation remotes and later.

Users need to install both software updates before their remotes can appear in the app.

After tvOS 27.2 is installed, users may need to wait for new remote firmware to arrive.
