Indonesia to Make Part-Time Government Contractors Full-Time From 2027
Indonesia's government will make part-time PPPK workers full-time from 1 January 2027.
PPPK workers are government employees whose current status can be part-time.
The plan was first limited to teachers, but the government has expanded it to several other fields.
Those include lecturers, firefighters, public order officers, health workers and technical and service staff.
Education Minister Abdul Mu'ti previously said part-time teachers would move to full-time status without a test, but the announcement does not specify whether that applies to every group.
The change will affect workers across several public services, not only schools.
Local governments have been asked to collect data ahead of the planned change.
