Prabhas’s Spirit is set for Diwali 2027, targeting Salman Khan’s box-office records
Prabhas’s film Spirit is scheduled to open on October 29, 2027, during the Diwali holiday period.
Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga announced the date after the planned release of Ramayana 2 was delayed, according to one report citing unnamed sources.
The date puts Spirit in the race for Diwali box-office records, a festive period when major Hindi films compete for large opening-day audiences.
Salman Khan’s Tiger 3 earned 44.50 crore on its opening day, while Prem Ratan Dhan Payo earned 40.35 crore.
Those figures place Salman among the top Diwali openers, though the current top spot belongs to Thugs Of Hindostan at 50.75 crore.
A big opening for Spirit could challenge Tiger 3’s record, but its box-office performance is not yet known.
The new release date for Ramayana 2 is expected to be announced, but no date has been confirmed in the sources.
Prabhas’s film Spirit is scheduled to arrive in cinemas on October 29, 2027, during the Diwali weekend.
Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga announced the release date after learning that Ramayana 2 could be delayed, according to a source cited by Bollywood Hungama.
The film is being positioned as a potential challenger to Salman Khan’s Diwali opening-day records.
Tiger 3 holds the highest Diwali opening among Salman Khan’s films, with reported India net collections of ₹44.50 crore.
