Benjamin Sesko expected to miss games until at least January

Manchester United striker Benjamin Sesko is expected to miss games until at least January because of a shin injury.

The 23-year-old Slovenia international has not played since being substituted against Brighton in the Carabao Cup on 16 September.

The injury has troubled him before, including last season, when it caused him to miss the final three Premier League matches.

His absence leaves United without their only orthodox number nine, a central striker who leads the attack.

Sesko has scored twice this season, while United are 16th in the league and have not won in any competition since 10 September.

He is set to miss league games against Liverpool and Arsenal and at least three Champions League matches; it remains unclear whether United will seek another forward in January.
