Persija Fined Rp90 Million and Fans Banned From Away Matches

Crowd trouble broke out during Persija Jakarta’s match against Persita Tangerang at Banten International Stadium on October 17.

PSSI fined Persija Rp90 million and barred its fans from away games after clashes and the throwing of flares and firecrackers.

One account describes the ban as six matches, while another says it lasts half the Super League season.

Former Jakmania leader Ferry Indrasjarief said Persija should accept the punishment without appealing and urged supporters to learn from the incident.

Coach Shin Tae Yong also called on fans to reflect, saying their actions can hurt Persija, its players and supporters.

Persija next play Persik Kediri at home on October 26, and Shin hopes similar incidents will not happen again.
