Neuren shares reach a 12-month high as Daybue sales rise

Neuren Pharmaceuticals shares reached a 12-month high on 5 November after an update on sales of Daybue.

Neuren, an Australian drug company, developed Daybue to treat Rett syndrome and licensed it to US partner Acadia Pharmaceuticals.

Daybue sales rose 39% year over year in the third quarter, reaching US$140 million.

Acadia raised its forecast for full-year sales to US$505 million to US$520 million, and Neuren increased its expected licensing earnings.

Daybue launched in Germany in October, bringing Neuren a US$35 million milestone payment; the company is also seeking approval in Japan.

Neuren is testing NNZ-2591 for several rare conditions, including Phelan-McDermid syndrome, Pitt Hopkins syndrome and Angelman syndrome.

The FDA has granted it orphan drug designation for potential treatment of neonatal hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy, and a Phase 3 trial is under way in children with Phelan-McDermid syndrome.
