Delhi coach says lack of accountability is hurting team and captain Badoni

Delhi drew with Services in the Ranji Trophy on Thursday, earning three points for a first-innings lead.

The result leaves the seven-time champions without a win and fifth in Group C, with seven points.

Coach Vijay Dahiya said Delhi had failed to turn strong positions in earlier matches into victories, pointing to dropped chances and a missed opportunity against Gujarat.

He also said players need to take more responsibility and deliver after receiving the team’s trust.

Captain Ayush Badoni has scored 559 runs, including double-centuries against Gujarat and Jharkhand, but Dahiya believes Badoni must show more patience at the crease when bowlers challenge him.

Dahiya said Badoni should spend longer batting through difficult periods before trying to dominate.

Delhi’s next results will determine whether the team can improve its position in the group.
