Google Photos adds a setting to turn off music in Memories

Google Photos is rolling out a setting to turn off added music in its Memories feature, which highlights moments from a user’s photo library.

The new “Background music” toggle is in Settings, under Preferences and Memories.

Turning it off applies to all Memories, including the End of Year Recap.

Videos in Memories will still play their recorded audio.

The change is rolling out across platforms, but it may not appear on every device right away.

Users who leave music on may hear new tracks, and they can also add music to Memories manually.
