Police identify suspect after park ranger was hit by motorcyclists near Cortina
In June, motorcyclists hit a park ranger near Cortina d’Ampezzo as he tried to stop them on a mountain road.
The ranger had gone to investigate reports of motorcycles using a route closed to ordinary motor traffic.
The riders left without stopping to help, and the ranger suffered injuries expected to take 16 days to heal.
Police examined video footage and spoke with witnesses, leading them to identify one person under investigation.
The person faces suspected offences including resisting a public official, causing injury and failing to provide assistance, but is presumed innocent unless convicted.
Police are still checking what happened and whether other people were involved.
