MaserGrup buys Skjodt-Barrett’s North American baby food division

Catalan holding company MaserGrup has bought Skjodt-Barrett’s main division from US-based Axel Johnson Inc.

The business makes baby food in flexible pouches for food companies and supermarket chains, and will join MaserGrup’s Global Fruselva.

The deal adds a factory in Indiana with capacity to produce 300 million units a year and 360 employees.

The division’s sales are about €100 million, while Global Fruselva recorded €190 million in 2025.

The purchase expands MaserGrup’s reach in the US and Canada, where the acquired business is a leading pouch-food manufacturer.

The purchase price was not disclosed, and MaserGrup says it will finance the deal with its own funds and bank debt.

The company plans to add 100 employees within two years, and the division will be renamed SBFoods.
