Survey finds demand for fairer hotel booking prices in China

A survey of 1,334 people in China asked about booking hotels and other accommodation.

Price and discounts were the top consideration, followed by listing accuracy and safety.

More than half want platforms to reduce personalized pricing, where different accounts may see different prices.

Nearly half said they had to compare prices across several platforms, which they found time-consuming.

Respondents also reported misleading listing details, hidden fees and problems getting refunds or help from customer service.

They want more trustworthy reviews and clearer prices, along with accurate accommodation information and clearer cancellation rules.

The survey gives no specific next steps for booking platforms.

We hope platform customer service can help us handle it, but there was no reply for several hours, so in the end we could only file a complaint through 12345.

I was right there at the front desk, and the hotel had not refused, but the platform and the hotel went back and forth for a long time.

If your compensation policy is very strict, you should write it out clearly, point by point.
