Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders Brand Owner Sues My Chemical Romance Over Costumes

Pro Silver Star, which owns the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders brand, is suing My Chemical Romance over costumes worn at a concert.

At the band’s October 21 show at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, dancers wore outfits resembling the cheerleaders’ uniforms during a staged scene with rifles and gunfire.

The company says some audience members and online commenters mistook the dancers for the real cheerleaders.

Pro Silver Star says it asked the band to stop using the lookalike uniforms, but the band refused.

The company wants a temporary court order barring the costumes and unspecified monetary damages.

It argues that the uniform is a protected part of its brand, built over decades.

The legal filing says the company objects to the costumes, not the band’s music, story or performance choices; My Chemical Romance had not immediately commented.
