Mexico launches second free AI training cohort for 23,000 young people

Mexico’s public AI training center has started its second cohort with 23,000 young people.

The government-run program works with 17 global companies, including Google, Microsoft, IBM and NVIDIA, which introduced students to tools and technology jobs.

It offers free online training in five areas: artificial intelligence, data analysis, cloud computing, cybersecurity, and networks and infrastructure.

The five-month course also includes technical English, logical reasoning, personal skills and help connecting with employers.

Students who complete it can receive certifications from public institutions and partner companies.

The program aims to widen access to technology skills and improve young people’s work opportunities, but the information provided does not say that a job is guaranteed.

The government aims to issue 25,000 certifications by the end of the year.
