Cole Knuble makes NHL debut for the Flyers he grew up supporting

Cole Knuble made his NHL debut for Philadelphia on Monday, playing for the Flyers team he grew up supporting.

The 22-year-old forward’s parents watched from the stands.

His father, Mike Knuble, played 362 games for the Flyers, including playoff games, across two stints.

Philadelphia called him up from its AHL team in Lehigh Valley to fill in for injured forwards Owen Tippett, Tyson Foerster and Travis Konecny against Colorado.

Knuble was a fourth-round pick in the 2023 NHL draft and was sent to the minors after training camp.

He used his time in Lehigh Valley to play in every situation and showcase his skills.

The call-up gave him an opportunity to play for the team he had supported his whole life.
