China’s public security ministry holds briefing on party plenary

Wang Xiaohong briefed China’s public security ministry on the ruling Communist Party’s fifth plenary session on November 5.

Wang is the minister of public security and a member of the party’s central leadership.

The session’s decisions include a focus on strengthening full and strict party governance, which Wang explained in relation to police work and the force’s conduct.

He said studying and implementing the decisions should be a major political task for police agencies now and in the period ahead.

Wang called for sustained discipline and efforts to build a strong police force, saying it must protect people’s safety and serve the party and public.

More than 10,000 people joined the briefing in person or by video, and the ministry is expected to continue applying the session’s decisions.
