Sarina Wiegman extends England women’s contract through Euro 2029

England have extended Sarina Wiegman’s contract as manager of the women’s national team, known as the Lionesses.

The new deal runs through the end of Euro 2029, two years beyond her previous contract.

Wiegman has led England to two European titles, winning Euro 2022 and Euro 2025.

She also took England to the 2023 World Cup final, where they lost to Spain.

The extension gives England continuity after months of speculation that Wiegman might leave after the next World Cup.

England beat Greece 8-1 on aggregate to reach the second round of the World Cup play-offs.

A two-legged tie against Ukraine is next, and England must win it to qualify for next summer’s tournament in Brazil.
