Couple found dead in Bray as Gardaí investigate circumstances

Jamie McGinn and Biddy O’Brien were found dead at their home in Bray, County Dublin.

McGinn, 38, was found in the front garden with apparent knife wounds; O’Brien, 40, was found in an upstairs bedroom with no obvious injuries.

Gardaí are investigating how the couple died, and have not ruled out foul play in McGinn’s death.

Detectives are not looking for a third party, but the investigation is continuing.

The couple’s two children died in a 2017 fire in Clondalkin, west Dublin, which also killed O’Brien’s pregnant cousin and the cousin’s young daughter.

O’Brien was left with permanent injuries and was placed in an induced coma after the fire.

Postmortem and toxicology tests are expected to help establish what happened, while Gardaí have also spoken to neighbours.
